My dearest Calleigh, you are definitely one "happy happy happy" baby! You are learning and talking so much now... you are our little parrot :) You try to mimic everything we do; actions and words. You love to be chased and caught. You also love it when Daddy throws you in the air and catches you... you squeal with pure joy! Daddy and I pray for you every day for the child that you are and the lady you will become. You are our greatest blessing. We love you munchkin! Happy 14 months!

13 Months

My sweet munchkin, what a personality you have!... you are full of life and this picture captures just a tiny bit of it :) Your smile and giggle are contagious! Daddy and I are amazed at you daily. You are without a doubt more than we could have ever asked for. God definitely broke the mold with you :) Love you baby girl! Happy 13 months!

This month Calleigh went back for what I thought was to recheck her iron... and it was a rough appointment :( Instead of just checking her iron, they wanted to do a full blood panel to see if her body was producing enough red blood cells on its own. Apparently back in February when she was real sick and had RSV her red blood cell count was super low. A low count could indicate a bad virus or lack of production. Since she was finally illness free for a month (yippee!) they wanted to test and see if her counts were any better. After attempting a blood draw in BOTH arms and getting nothing, they resorted to just a finger prick to check her iron and decided to try the panel again at 15 months. My poor baby had bruises on both arms from the blood draw attempts... I sure hope it goes smoother next time! Her iron level was still low, so they switched us to another oral iron supplement that she now has to take twice a day. We are praying that this supplement will do the trick and that when they test in July we will see positive results!

Calleigh's 13 Month Milestones:

The milestone lists are getting shorter now because 1. she is so active that there are too many!  and 2. I keep forgetting to write them all down :)

Month TWELVE

12 months... my oh my where did the time go??? Calleigh, your first year has been a whirlwind of excitement and learning! We are SO blessed to be your parents and couldn't imagine life without you! You brighten every day and are loved by everyone you meet. We love watching you grow and discover new things. You are curious, yet cautious, silly, sooo smart, and simply beautiful in every way! We love you SO much and can't wait to see what God has in store for you over the next twelve months!

This month Calleigh had her twelve month well visit with Dr.Crow a week after she turned one. Since she typically runs a low grade fever with her vaccinations and this appointment was packed with them, I didn't want to do that to her the day before her birthday party, so we waited a week. At this appointment Calleigh weighed in at 18 pounds 7 ounces (28th percentile) and was 27 1/4 inches (3rd percentile). A tiny little squirt, but still no worries because there is growth. Dr. Crow was actually quite impressed. Calleigh was walking around the room, talking, and pointing at things nonstop. He said that she was developmentally more like a 15 month old than a 12 month old! We also found out at this appointment that Calleigh is anemic... which could be the underlying factor in why her immune system stayed run down and why she seemed to pick up every virus she came in contact with :( She was placed on an iron supplement and scheduled to go back in a month for a recheck.

Calleigh's 12 Month Milestones:

  • sleeping 10-11 hours straight at night
  • 6-9 months, 9 months clothes
  • size 2 shoes
  • size 3 diapers
  • double ear infection
  • enjoyed her first sucker
  • free roam in the bath tub... no more baby seat!
  • first poop in the tub
  • first tooth (bottom)
  • walks behind her push toys
  • took first steps
  • climbs stairs
  • puts her arms up when Daddy says "touchdown"
  • has momentary shyness with some strangers
  • cuddles with her teddy bear at night
  • says "doggie", "tweet tweet", and "mi-mi" (for her Aunt Misty)
  • first St. Patty's Day
  • first Easter egg hunt
  • first Birthday Party!

Rough 12 Month well visit... 3 shots and a finger prick :(

Yummy sucker!

I'm free!

Sweet baby

Happy St. Patty's Day!

Celebrating ONE Year!

I can't believe we have a ONE year old! Where did the time go??? We celebrated Calleigh's 1st birthday on Saturday, April 6 (the day after her actual birthday). It was so much fun! And as you can see from the picture above, Calleigh had a good time too :) We were able to celebrate her first year with most of our family and close friends. Thank you to all that came to share her special day with us!

Calleigh's 1st birthday theme was caterpillars... based on a stuffed animal caterpillar that she has that she loves and a cute outfit I saw on Etsy, lol! Her invitations, thank you notes, and gift tags were custom made from a lady in College Station, and then thanks to Pinterest, I had no shortage of ideas on how to decorate for her party! I started over Spring Break getting some of the decor made since I had the time off. And after each project was finished I always found an idea for another :) I really enjoyed being able to make it all. Calleigh's Nana made her birthday cake as well as the caterpillar cupcakes. She did such a great job! I just love how it all turned out!
